In Memoriam – Prof.dr Zoran Kuljača (1946-2025)
With deep sorrow, we bid farewell to the respected Prof. Dr. Zoran Kuljača, who left an indelible mark on Ophthalmology in Serbia, Montenegro, and the region. His dedication and expertise influenced numerous ophthalmologists from Montenegro, especially those who had the opportunity to gain knowledge and skills as resident or young ophthalmologists during his frequent visits to Montenegro. The moments we shared at the “Queen Jelena” Eye Clinic in Cetinje in the late 1990s, examining and performing surgeries on complex cases, will forever remain in our memory. Through these experiences, we learned and absorbed the knowledge which he generously shared. Our collaboration with the professor continued through numerous contacts and the treatment of patients from Montenegro at the “Miloš Clinic,” the Specialized ophthalmology hospital in Belgrade, as well as at many professional meetings. With his skill in anterior segment eye surgery—including keratoplasty, cataract, glaucoma, and eye injury treatments—he restored vision to many patients. May his memory be eternal!
