10th COFD meeting 2019

The meeting with topic “Disease modification by intensive early treatment in DME” was held on December 27, 2019 at Hotel Podgorica in Podgorica from 15-17h. The meeting was dedicated to the treatment of Diabetic Macular Edema (DME) with guest lecturer and moderator Ass.prof Diana Risimić from Belgrade, Clinical Centre of Serbia. The sponsors were the pharmaceutical companies Bayer.

There were 44 participants: 30 ophthalmologists, 13 ophthalmology residents and 1 optometrist. The meeting is accredited by the Medical Chamber of Montenegro. After the meeting, dinner and a New Year’s Eve party were organized.

The 9th COFD Meeting – 2019

The meeting was held on May 10, 2019 at Hotel Ramada in Podgorica from 14-16.h, and it was dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of keratoconus with lecturers from the “Milos Clinic” Eye Hospital in Belgrade. The sponsors were the pharmaceutical companies Bayer and Dietpharm, and the drug store “Osmi Red-D” from Podgorica.

There were 41 participants, 30 ophthalmologists, 4 residents and 6 representatives of sponsorship companies. The meeting ended with lunch and socializing at the hotel.

The 8th COFD Meeting -2016

The meeting was held on October 8, 2016, at the Hotel “Regent”, Porto Montenegro, in Tivat. The guest lecturer was Prim dr. Vladimir Pfeifer from  Eye Clinic, University Clinical Centre of Ljubljana, Slovenia. He presented two lectures with following topics:

  • Lamellar corneal surgery
  • Subluxated lenses

The participants were able to meet with the achievements of lamellar corneal surgery techniques as well as surgical solving of complicated cases with subluxated  lenses and IOL. The Meeting was attended by 16 Ophthalmologists.

The meeting of Ophthalmologists ended with lunch in beautiful atmosphere of the Hotel Regent and Porto Montenegro.

The 7th COFD Meeting, The 6th Annual and 3rd Electoral COFD Asemblly – 2016

The meeting was held on April 9,2016  at the Hotel Podgorica  and in cooperation with MSD pharmaceutical company.

Meeting programme :

After lectures, the 7th Annual and 3rd Electoral COFD Asemblly was held, in which was submitted a report of the activities and the financial report for the period from the last Asemblly and Dr Zoran Koturovic was elected as the new COFD President in the following four-year term, as well as other membres of Board. The Meeting was attended by 27  Ophthalmologists.

The meeting of Ophthalmologists ended with lunch in  the Hotel restaurant.

The 6th COFD Meeting and The 5th Annual COFD Asemblly – 2014

The meeting was held on May 31, 2014, at the Hotel and restaurant “Imanje Knjaz”, in Podgorica. The guest lecturer was Nada Radovic MD/PhD from “Milos Eye Hospital” Belgrade and following topic “Optical coherent tomography in modern diagnosis of the posterior segment eye diseases”.

The second lecture, with the title “Retinoblastoma and differential diagnosis of leucocoria”, was presented Natasa Jovovic MD/MS from Institute for Childhood Diseases, Clinical Centre of Montenegro, Podgorica.

After lectures, the 5th Annual COFD Asemblly was held, inwhich was submitted a report of the activities and the financial report for the period from the last Asemblly and the proposals of future activities. The Meeting was attended by 24 ophthalmologists.

The meeting of Ophthalmologists ended with lunch in beautiful atmosphere of the restaurant.

The 5th COFD Meeting – 2013

The fifth expert meeting of the COFD was held on September 28, 2013, at the hotel “Ramada”, in Podgorica, from 12h-14h, with the following topics:

    • Normal Tensio glaucoma – Edita Files Bradarić, MD Eye clinic “’Optimal“ Podgorica
    • Supplements in Age Related Macular Degeneration – Ass Prof Antoaneta Adžić Zečević, Clinical Center of Montenegro, Podgorica

The expert meeting was organized in cooperation with the local wholwsalers of drugs Farmegra from Podgorica and its representatives of pharmaceutical company Pfizer and Unimed Pharma. The Meeting was attended by 31 ophthalmologists.The “Medical” Journal has reported extensively in November issue about the meeting and Montenegrin Society of Ophthalmology.

The 4th COFD Meeting – 2012

The fourth expert meeting of the COFD was held on May 12, 2012, at the hotel “Podgorica”, in Podgorica, from  12h-14h, with the following topics:

After the lectures, lunch was organized in the same hotel. Sponsor of the expert meeting was Novartis       Pharma Services, Inc., branch office in Belgrade. Meeting was attended by 29ophthalmologists.

The 3rd COFD Meeting  -2011

The third expert meeting of the COFD was held on October 1, 2011 at the amphitheater of the Institute for Children’s Diseases of the Clinical Center of Montenegro in Podgorica. Topic of the meeting was related to the retinal diseases and diagnostics, with guest lecturer, Ass Prof Vesna Jakšić from the Medical Faculty in Priština-KosovskaMitrovica.

Meeting lasted from 12h to 14h, after which the lunch was organized in the restaurant “Skadarlija”. Meeting was attended by 27 ophthalmologists, and was sponsored by MSD Oftalmici, Belgrade branch office and “Osmi red” from Podgorica.

The 2nd COFD Meeting – 2010

Second expert meeting of COFD washeld on May 29, 2010 at the Info Center of National park “Skadar Lake” in Vranjina . Guest lecturer was Prof Ana Oros from the Eye Clinic and Medical Faculty in Novi Sad (Serbia). Topic of the meeting was premature retinopathy.

Expert meeting was held from 11hto 13h, after which the lunch was organized in the restaurant “Jezero”.  Meeting was attended by 27 ophthalmologists. Sponsor of the meeting was pharmaceutical company Hemofarm from Podgorica.

The 1st COFD Meeting- 2008

First COFD expert meeting was held on April 4, 2008, at the Info Center of the National Park ”Skadar Lake“ in Vranjina, from  11-13h, with following topics:

      • New Trends in glaucoma treatment – Prof Đorđe Kontić, Institute of Ophthalmology , Clinical Center of Serbia, Belgrade
      • Central Corneal Thickness and Correction of Intraocular Pressure in Patients with Primary Open-angle Glaucoma and Ocular Hypertension – Edita Files – Bradarić,MD, Eye Clinic, Clinical Center of Montenegro, Podgorica

Meeting was organized in cooperation with pharmaceutical corporation MSD Oftalmici –branch office in Belgrade. Meeting was attended by 22 ophthalmologists. After the lectures, lunch was organized in the restaurant “Jezero”, after which the participants have visited a nearby medieval fortress ŽabljakCrnojevića.

 

The 1st  Refractive Surgery Seminar – 2008

The First Refractive Surgery Seminar was held on September 20, 2008, at the Hotel “Splendid”in Becici.     Guest lecturer was Mirko Jankov, MD/PhD from the “Miloš” Eye Clinic from Belgrade. Programme of the seminar was the following:

Seminar was organized by the Eye office “Miljković” from Budva, and it was sponsored by Company “TAC” from Budva. Seminar was attended by 26 ophthalmologists from Montenegro.

 

World Glaucoma Day – 2009

In order to mark a World Glaucoma Day, on March 12, 2009, COFD printed an appropriate poster that was distributed to all eye offices in Montenegro, in order to raise public awareness on the importance of early detection of this eye disease and prevention of glaucoma-caused blindness. Poster design was provided by MSD Oftalmici from Belgrade, while printing costs were covered by pharmaceutical company Hemomont from Podgorica.

Also, in cooperation with the Clinical Center of Montenegro, measuring of eye pressure and glaucoma screening was organized for the citizens in the Eye Clinic of the Clinical Center of Montenegro. Public was informed about the importance of prevention and treatment of glaucoma through the numerous media.
